Giving @ FBC

Giving is a part of our worship to God. It has been said that you can tell nearly everything about a person by the way they spend their money. Whether you are tithing in obedience to Malachi 3:10 or contributing over and above your tithe as an act of sacrificial generosity, your money will help us minister to our community and beyond.

We give because we recognize that all we have is a gift from God, not for fear of anything negative in our lives. We give out of gratitude and love!

"Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7

Giving Locally.

FBC is committed to serving the city of Waverly and surrounding area by equipping its members for gospel ministry and reaching the lost with the hope of the gospel. Our weekly offering ensures that we can serve our community in that way. Beyond our weekly offering, FBC participates in a number of local giving campaigns like Blanket Blessings, baby bottle drive with Alternatives Pregnancy Center, and others.

We also have a designated fund to help with disaster relief for anyone in need. In 2008, we were blessed by the random donations from churches across the state and across the nation as our building was significantly damaged by flooding. Our desire in this fund is to bless others who experience similar unexpected tragedies in the same way that we were blessed.

Giving Globally.

When Jesus commissioned his disciples before His ascension, He said, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

At FBC, we take this command of making disciples in all nations very seriously, which leads us to give a portion your tithe and offerings to work God is doing globally. We support missionaries across the globe as God uses them in various ways. Click the "Learn More" link below to see a list of our missionaries, where they are located, and what their main ministry is.
